A few months ago I realized I really really needed to do a side project to get my creative juices flowing. The concept of doing a Frida Kahlo inspired shoot was born from lots and lots of brainstorming and daydreaming. I was completely thrilled when Erin from Rosehip Flora, Anna with Trashy Roots Salon and the amazing ladies at Rancho Mirando Guest Ranch jumped on board to make this dream of mine a reality.  I spent countless hours searching thrift stores for vintage embroidered wedding dresses (I was very specific- though I did manage to find one of them at Free People!) and I can’t tell you how many trips I made to Anthropologie for the dishes (and managed to use some things from my own house). After all the prepping, the day came in late March to do the shoot and I can’t tell you how perfectly it all panned out. I was on a high for about a week afterwards. I’m already itching to do another one — so any vendors out there, if you’re interested in working together, get in touch! BIG thanks to my models: Renee and Jazmine. Also big thanks to my friends Courtney and Rachel for helping out! I couldn’t have done this without all of you. Also, this was just recently featured on my favorite blog Ruffled (another dream come true)!

Here’s some of my favorites!
